We have some exciting things coming up in February and March!

We will celebrate “We Love to Read Day” on Monday, Feb. 14, along with Valentine’s Day. There will be several activities planned for that day and week. Here are some of the planned activities:

bullet Students from each class will make a “Video Valentine” book talk (like on Reading Rainbow). We will show this at Open House.
bullet Students will vote for favorite books. Suggestions from each class will be taken; then voting will take place on Mon., Feb. 14. The favorites will be announced.
bullet Book adoption—during the week of Feb. 14-18, students will be able to pick books that need new covers. Then they will need to read the book and design a cover. I’ll cover the book and put a note inside about the cover designer.
bullet Pictures of teachers with their favorite books will be put in the hail.
bullet Valentine bookmarks will be given out all week during library class.

Some Storytelling Students will tell stories tc1K-3 grade students on Feb. 14.

From March 6-11, we will have our Book Fair! The theme of the fair is “Read a Great Tale.” Watch for more information about pet activities that we will do with the fair. We will need several parent, grandparent, or community volunteers to help with our Book Fair. If you can help or if you know of someone else who would like to help, please complete the bottom of this form and return it to school. Any heip will be appreciated!!!
