Carnival Raffle

November 1, 2002

Dear Parents and Guardians,

With our weather remaining so warm fur so long, it is hard to believe that we are nearing the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays already! Our school calendar is fi1100 with special events as we near those two great times of celebration!

Great things are happening! This past week's mail brought word that Mrs. Yvonne Kiefer has been selected for Who's Who Among American Teachers. .This is the fifth time that Mrs. Kiefer has been selected for this honor. We congratulate her and celebrate with her!

Great things are happening! We received a check for $2,768.00 from the McShand Fund  (Mercy Cross/Sacred Heart/Notre Dame Fwd) recently. The money was the result of a "profit sharing" program from the sale of their raffle tickets. Our parents who sell tickets for their drawing receive tuition credit and our school receives a portion of the proceeds. 1bis check represents our "profit sharing". from the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 school years. Our thanks to Mr. George Lawrence for his hard work with McShand and to all who sold tickets and made this possible for us!

Great things are happening! Our school was able to make a difference in a lot of lives in the Biloxi area! Our collection of personal care items (soap, shampoo, shaving cream etc.) was tremendous. Thank you on behalf of all who have been blessed because of your generosity!

Great things are happening! Our Halloween Carnival was a HUGE success! What beautiful weather we enjoyed! What great cooperation and pm1icipation we saw! What good times we shared! And how WELL we ate! Special thanks to the NP A officers: Donna Derouen, Kelly McGill, Jennifer Schmidt, Angel Anderson, Dianne Holloway and Jim Cummings; the Kitchen crew; prize committee; faculty and staff members; set-up crew, take-down crew, classroom booth decorators, booth workers and of course all who came and enjoyed the carnival. If you missed the chance to help or happened to be out of town, next year's carnival will be on Saturday, October 18th! Again, thanks everyone, for a job very well done!

You have heard me often speak of the priority that we put on the safety of the children and staff members of our school Please remember ....

bulletAny visitors to the school must first check into the office and sign in. (The exception to this is when we have large groups present for programs or assemblies. )
bulletItems that children have forgotten at home should be brought to the office. Either the item will be delivered by a staff member or another student or your child will be called to the office.
bulletIf there is a change in the way a child is going home or with the person picking up the child, we require notification from the parent or guardian. Please remember that no child is released to any person not on the family information card unless we have received approval from the parent/guardian.
bulletIt is helpful for us to have a copy of any legal documents that you might have referring to custody situations for your family. Such documents help us to better protect your child especially if there is a question regarding access to the child.
bulletGREAT care should be taken in the mornings and at dismissal time while driving on the school grounds. Although we remind children about safety procedures and provide staff and students to cross them safely, the vigilance of the drivers is critical.

Thank you for your help!

Know that we are here to help you help your child! It is so exciting to see the ways in which they have grown and changed already this year! Please feel free to contact us if we can help in addressing any of your questions or concerns. May God continue to bless you and the members of your family.
