Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is somewhat with amazement that I write this final letter of the school year. I am amazed at the ways in which the children have grown and changed throughout this year. I am amazed at the commitment of our teachers and staff to the children and their families. I am amazed at the ways in which Father Tony, our parish staff and members of the parish continue to support our school. I am amazed at the ways in which you, our parents and guardians, have helped and supported our school despite your own challenges. I am amazed at the improvements to our school that we have enjoyed this year and the improvements yet to come! God continues to challenge us but God certainly continues to shower us with blessings!
I am happy to inform you that Mrs. Kim Audo will be returning to our teaching staff full time for the coming year. Mrs. Audo will be our second Kindergarten teacher for next year. As many of you know, Mrs. Audo taught both preschool and kindergarten in our school prior to the birth of her children. We certainly welcome her back full time!
I would like to express my thanks to our School Advisory Council members: Naomi Foster, Steve Givens, Jody Grimes, Lyn Miller, Caroline Mitchem, Robert Pegoda, Jennifer Schmidt and Robert Starks, for a job VERY well done! Special thanks to Steve for all his efforts as he concludes his term of office a member and as board president. Thank you, too, to our NPA Officers: Kris Dibble, Peggy Givens, Ashlie Hawkins, Donna Lively, Marion Platt, Jennifer Schmidt and Sherie Semski. We could not have had our wonderful events without you!
If you haven't already heard--
Our Walk with eh Archbishop earned over $2,600 for our school. Thanks!
Sgt. Hopkins and several students from Keesler spent most of Saturday, May 10th, raking leaves and sprucing up our grounds! This was completely their idea to do this for us!
John Pugh and several Keesler co-workers spent most of May 16th checking wiring and setting up our new computer lab. Robbie Schmidt has also been instrumental in working with Mrs. Barbara Ziz to get our technology ready for the new school year.
Construction work for the installation of the heating/air conditioning project and the lowering of the hallway and bathroom ceilings will begin on Tuesday, May 27th.
Summer Office hours from May 23rd until June 23rd are from 7am until 2pm. From June 24th until July 14th, it is best to call the office before coming by. The Summer Office Hours of 7am until 2pm will resume on July 14th and continue until the beginning of the school year.
Final Registration will be held on July 24th from 4pm until 6pm and on July 25th from 10am until 2pm. If you will be unable to attend on one of those days, please contact us so that we can set a date/time for you to complete your registration process.
Our first BYT Day (Bring your took kit day) for the new school year is set for Saturday, July 27th from 9am until noon. Because we are again doing a great deal of construction in the building, we will really, really, REALLY need helping hands to get things ready! If you will be out of town that day but would still be willing to help, please let me know and we can work out a day/time/tasks.
As we end this 2007-2008 school year, I would like to thank each of you for all that you have done to make this year such a success. Nativity BVM School is a wonderful school where children can grow in faith, knowledge and service. May God continue to bless our school. May God continue to bless you and the members of your family throughout the days and weeks ahead.
