Carnival Raffle

May 1, 2007

Dear Parents and Guardians,

For the last five years, the celebration of the 50th birthday of Nativity School has been a topic of conversation at various meetings. Throughout this year, we have enjoyed the various events as we have remembered, celebrated and looked to the future. And, it’s not over yet! Yes, we have one more month of school and one more BIRTHDAY EVENT! On Saturday, May 5th, we will have our final birthday event. Our Birthday Committee has planned a Family Movie Night, beginning at 6:00 p.m. We will have food for sale, games for all and great music capped off by the showing of the movie “Herbie.” Come, join the fun, and celebrate our school’s long and rich history. Weather permitting, all events will take place outside.

If it is possible, May is busier than any other month at school. Please keep your May calendar posted for easy reference or locate it on our school website. Although we have tried to include every special event/activity, I am certain that there will be some additions. The teachers are great about sending home notes and reminders. Please emphasize to your child how important it is to bring those notes home!

Our school’s largest fund raiser is just a few weeks away. I know that you are well aware that our school receives very little in the way of financial support from our federal and state government. As a private school, the majority of our finances come from the payment of tuition/fees, donations from our parishes and friends of the school and from fund raising. We ask each and every family to be involved in the support of this Seventh Annual Raffle in some way. Each family received five tickets to buy or sell. Please do your best…and remember, you will receive a $100.00 credit on next year’s tuition for every five tickets that you sell. We need people to help set up, clean up and carry out the actual event. Please consider offering some time during the day (May 19th) to help in some way. If you are able to secure a silent auction item, we would really appreciate your help. Finally, I hope to see you at our Seventh Annual Raffle on May 19th at 6:00 p.m. as we enjoy great food, good music and terrific company!

I am pleased to tell you that our enrollment for the upcoming school year is going very well. Several classes are nearly filled and we have begun a waiting list for two classes. If you have not completed your registration packet and returned it, please do so as soon as possible to secure a place for your child. Also, if you would like to request financial assistance, an application must be completed before the end of this school year.

Despite the busy days (and nights) please know that our main focus continues to be the education of your child. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything that we can do to help your child in achieving success.
May God continue to bless us as we work together.
