January 3, 2002

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we begin this new year of 2002, I am sure that all of us join in a wish and prayer for peace----in our hearts, homes and in our world. Our challenge is to do what we can, individually and collectively, to promote and ensure that peace.

It is amazing to realize that we have completed one half of our school year. Our teachers will be completing their records and report cards will be given to students on January 10th. Although we will not have scheduled report card conferences at this time, please feel free to contact your child's teacher for a conference if you wish to meet I am available to meet with you as well.

Progress continues on our Resource Building project. We are eagerly awaiting the day when we can move into the building! Please look for a "help wanted" sign later in the month. We will need help when we are ready to move furniture and materials into the building. The dedication of the building by Bishop Thomas Rodi is scheduled for February 1st.

Catholic Schools Week is celebrated nationally each year at the end of January. Later this month, you will receive an information sheet listing our various. special events throughout the week. The final event of the week will be the dedication of our Resource Center. Thank you for your support of Catholic education and specifically, your support of Nativity BVM School.

Did you know that YOU are the greatest promoters of our school? As we near the time of registration for the next school year, hopefully you will encourage friends, neighbors and co-workers to think about enrolling their children in our school. An Open House will be held on the last Sunday of February. This would be a terrific time to bring someone for a tour of our school. Also, 1 am more than happy to meet with prospective families during or after the school day.

May you continue to be blessed abundantly during this new year of 2002. May we always remember that we are the body of Christ...caIIed to holliness...called to ministry.
