Dear Parents and Guardians,
            For the last four years, our diocese has sponsored a program entitled, “Walk with the Bishop.”  The idea was that parents, friends and supporters of our schools would join with Bishop Rodi in support of Catholic education.  A diocesan sponsored golf tournament generated additional funds which were used for a “Walk with the Bishop” scholarship and for schools in particular financial need. 
          Our Diocesan School Office recently decided not to do the campaign this year. However, our school will continue the program with some modifications.
            Our Nativity BVM School students are invited to bring in a  $1.00  donation to figuratively “walk with the Archbishop” in support of our school. Footprints (for each $1.00 raised) naming the child and the donor will be placed on the brick wall near the gym as a reminder of the many people who support our school. For every $10.00 donation, the child will earn a ticket in a “summer fun” drawing.  Students bringing in $20.00 in donations will earn 15 minutes extra recess. Children bringing in $30.00 will earn a free dress pass and any students bringing in $100.00 or more will be treated to a special lunch here at school.       Proceeds from the Second  Annual Nativity Talent Show, which will be held on Thursday, April 24th  will be included  with the “walk with the Archbishop” proceeds.
            On Thursday, April 24th, Archbishop Rodi will come to WALK WITH US at 10:00 a.m.  We will begin with a short prayer service and then walk together in support of our school and Catholic education.  Please consider joining us!
            I realize that while we are doing our “walk” we will have just completed our efforts for  the Eighth Annual Raffle to benefit our school. We appreciate whatever support you can give to the project.
            Our school has been  very successful in prior “Walk With the Bishop“ projects. We have a great deal of fun and earned over $3,000 each year through the sale of $1.00 footprints! ! In the four years of the “Walk,” our school raised over $15,336.00. We hope that we will be as successful and even exceed that amount!
            “Walk with the Bishop” will begin on Monday, April 21st and end  on Friday, May 2nd.
            Again, know how much we appreciate all that you do for our school.  You, and your families and friends are remembered each day in prayer by all of us here in school.
