Dear Parents and Guardians,

After a one year break, we will be joining the other Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Biloxi in the Fourth Annual WALK WITH THE BISHOP in support of Catholic schools. Our Nativity BVM School students are invited to request a $1.00 donation to figuratively “walk with the Bishop” in support of our school. Footprints (for each $1.00 raised) naming the child and the donor will be placed in the school hallway as a reminder of the generosity of so many people. Students bringing in a total donation of $100.00 or more will have a chance to win a scholarship of $3,000.00 toward next year’s tuition. Incentives such as extra recess and free dress passes will be given to students who are able to participate in the program. We will have a pizza party and an ice cream party for the top two classes and a special award for the top ten earners.

Proceeds from the First Annual Nativity Talent Show, which will be held on Thursday, April 26th will be included in the “walk with the Bishop” project. Tickets for the 6:00 p.m. event will be on sale at the door (adults - $2.00 and children - $1.00).

It is important to remember that all money raised through the “walk” will go directly to our school. The walk will conclude on Monday, April 30th as part of the Bishop’s Trophy Challenge Golf Tournament to benefit the Catholic Schools of the Diocese. The total amount that our school has earned will be announced at the award ceremony. Students bringing in a total donation of $100.00 or more will have a chance to win a scholarship of $3,000.00 toward next year’s tuition. This drawing will also be done at the Golf Tournament Awards ceremony.
I realize that while we are doing our “walk” we are also involved in many other fund raising events including the Capital Campaign for Catholic Education and our own preparations for the Seventh Annual Raffle to benefit our school. We appreciate whatever support you can give to the project.

Our school was very successful in prior ‘Walk With the Bishop” projects. We had a great deal of fun and earned over $3,000.00 each year! We hope that we will be as successful; and even exceed that amount! In the three years of the “Walk”, our school raised over $10,000.00.

Again, know how much we appreciate all that you do for our school. You, and your families and friends are remembered each day in prayer by all of us here in school.
